What is RepaGyn®?

RepaGyn® is a health product and is formulated with hyaluronic acid (known for its ability to retain moisture in the skin/tissue and its reparative properties). RepaGyn® is a hormone free option that helps to relieve dryness and helps promote healing of vaginal tissue.

Does RepaGyn® contain any hormones or parabens?

No, RepaGyn® does not contain any hormones or parabens. RepaGyn® is a health product and is formulated using a combination of hyaluronic acid with:

  • Aloe vera (natural anti-inflammatory properties)
  • Calendula officinalis (adjuvant wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties)
  • Centella asiatica (promotes healing)
  • Tea tree essential oil (natural topical antiseptic)
  • Semi-synthetic glycerides
  • Butylated hydroxytoluene

Does RepaGyn® have any side effects?

Side effects have been reported while taking RepaGyn®, mainly local (vaginal) issues such as itching, hypersensitivity, burning sensation, etc. RepaGyn® should not be used if you are allergic to any ingredients of the product. In case of hypersensitivity or allergy, stop treatment and consult the doctor.

How often should RepaGyn® be used?

The recommended use for RepaGyn® is to place one ovule into the vagina daily (preferably at bedtime) for at least two or three weeks. RepaGyn® vaginal suppositories may be used every other day, even for long periods. The duration of use depends on the evolution of symptoms and on the advice of a healthcare professional.

Can RepaGyn® be used with other vaginal medications or devices?

It is not advisable to use RepaGyn® in combination with any other vaginal medications or devices (including condoms) without consulting a healthcare professional.

Can RepaGyn® be used while pregnant or nursing?

There is no data available on the use of RepaGyn® in pregnant women. It is not advisable to use RepaGyn® while pregnant or breastfeeding without first consulting a healthcare professional.

Can RepaGyn® be used to treat discomfort from childbirth?

No, RepaGyn® should not be used to aid in healing vaginal abrasions associated with childbirth, such as tears and episiotomy.

How does hyaluronic acid work?

Hyaluronic acid significantly hydrates the tissue and has been shown to accelerate the healing process mainly by facilitating cell transportation of essential nutrients. Because of this, hyaluronic acid helps to combat vaginal dryness, along with associated symptoms of vaginal itching and irritation and/or pain during sexual intercourse.

Can RepaGyn® reduce the recurrence of vaginal yeast infections?

No, RepaGyn® is not a preventive treatment for vaginal yeast infections. RepaGyn® may be used after a yeast infection has been correctly treated, to assist in healing the vaginal tissue. Consult a healthcare professional for more information.
